SAN’A, Yemen - A Yemeni judge dissolved the marriage of an 8-year-old girl to a man nearly four times her age, and the girl's lawyer said Wednesday that the court also ordered the youngster removed from the control of the father who forced her into the wedding.

Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

Okay, so this guy is so hard up, he marries an Eight year old girl. Uggg!!!! Who allowed the wedding to be preformed? Why did not anyone object?

This is just buffoonery

At least the child had enough sense to go find a judge.

Truly. Maybe the credit should go to an adult who somehow gave her the idea or advised her on how to proceed.

There is not much difference between Yemen and Texas. In both cases, followers violate the laws of the state and their religious leaders do not object.

US/Texas did not stop FLDS for 5 decades and Yemen orders $250 as "compensation" to Thamer. Religious leaders had no reason to change if these are the official state policies.
